Photography is like an open book to the world. - Lisa Jones

These are some old pictures from various folders but I really felt like posting something so here they are. A lot of them took place at the Bio park in Albuquerque and the boat and the birds took place in Portland, OR. I hope you all enjoy them. I'm particularly proud of the boat...

This post just tells me that I need to start taking more pictures!

Its 3 AM, I'm loaded up with a triple shot of expresso and three cups of coffee, and there is no better time than now to work on some photos. I'm in a world completely of my own existence right now. I'm perfectly content and in my own head. There is no greater feeling then playing around with photography and making a picture say 10,000 words.  Its only me and my art and whether my audience thinks its good or not I don't really care. I am in love and I am content and I am proud. Sometimes in a world of chaos its nice to escape into something that you love and forget about reality.

A good snapshot stops a moment from running away. ~Eudora Welty

My deepest apologies! I have not been that great at updating my blog truth is time escaped me and plus I just got lazy. BUT however I did warn you in my first post that I'm not that good at keeping up with this blogging thing.  Anyway I've been up to a a lot sense my last post. My mom and I went on a long road trip through the Yosemite, Redwoods, and Death Valley then finally back up to Portland where, I have been lacking on the picture taking. But anyway, here are some new photos so I hope you enjoy them!

This was featured in a close up group on Fotoblur.com check it out there is some amazing photography there!

I'm hoping to get this one published in Fotoblur magazine I know that it already has two votes!

This is called "Shadows of Death Valley" it was taken in...wait for it Death Valley! 120 degrees that day!

This one was taken in Yosemite national park.

The beach finally!

A Lady In Pink

So just some playing around. I'm going to Colorado this weekend so expect some new photos! I have yet to take my camera outside of Santa Fe.  I don't ever really know what to say about all of this, I'm not a very good "blogger" so I'm just going to let the photos speak for themselves (hopefully they're good enough to speak?) anyway. Here you go!

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine

Saturday, my mom and I took a bike ride (ugggggg) to down town Santa Fe to visit the farmers market and Spanish market.  I of course was stuck in the flowers and such taking pictures of bugs and water droplets.  I fiddled around with a few of them in photoshop just for kicks and giggles but most of them are pretty untouched. I'm trying to leave my photos fairly unaltered unless I'm doing a black and white and maybe a bit of color enhancement.  I like the natural beauty of things.  Anyway I digress, here are some photos, enjoy!

A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.  ~Ansel Adams

Santa Fe Southern

So I took a trip to the rail yard (its not that much of a trip) to take some photos and I was pleasantly surprised with the photo opportunities it presented.  I feel like any aspiring photographer in Santa Fe must take a trip to the rail yard in hopes to capture a few good photos, its only tradition. I really only came away with five photos I particularly liked (out of the zillion that I took....isn't that what always happens though..?..?) All of these are taken with my Canon 5D.

El Ten Eleven

So a good friend of mine invited me to a concert last night at the Santa Fe Brewery.  The concert was El Ten Eleven, they are an amazing two person band who plays instrumental music.  They are superb *go out and listen to them!* Anyway I figure this might be a good opportunity to whip out my D5 and take a few shots.  This is kinda out of my "comfort" zone I mainly take pictures of flowers and bugs, but I'm trying new things, so bare with me. But here are some shots of the concert...

Also Hanna! If you read this I got their record! They even signed it!!!
